Product Overview
The 2014 Rudd Samantha's Cabernet Sauvignon is dark in color with violet edges. The aromatics express pure, Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon characteristics with cassis fruit, hints of dried rosemary and freshly dug earth, suggesting an iron/rust element. On the mouth, a fresh entry with ripe tannins and acid crescendos with liveliness and inviting drinkability. A wine of finesse, yet generous, the 2014 is enjoyable now and will continue to develop in complexity with 4-15 years of cellaring.
Varietal Composition: 100% Cabernet Sauvignon

94+ Points - Wine Advocate
"The 2014 Samantha's is cut from the same mold as the 2013, just denser, with slightly less tannin and a reticent character, but it is loaded with upside potential. Give this wine 3-4 years of cellaring and drink it over the following 25 years." -LPB, 12/30/16
93 Points - Vinous
"The 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Samantha's is another impeccable wine from Rudd. Stylistically, the Samantha's is more supple and open-knit than the Estate Red. Dark stone fruits, mocha, torrefaction and chocolate give the wine its sumptuous, racy personality. It should drink well with minimal cellaring." -AG, Dec/2016
92 Points - Wine Spectator
"Dark, rich and creamy textured, with tiers of silky red and dark berry flavors that cast cherry, plum and red and black licorice notes, ending with fine-grained tannins and a long finish. Drink now through 2030. 700 cases made." -JL, 11/15/18
