Product Overview
The 2016 J. Wilkes Lagrein begins with intoxicating aromas of red and black berries and cherry pie, framed by hints of bramble, sage, and saline minerals. On the palate, it's clearly old world inspired, complex and very layered, offering dense fruit and integrated tannins that provide a firm and lengthy finish. Pair with grilled meats, barbecue, tri-tip, New York Strip, or hard cheeses such as aged Cheddar and Gouda.

"A bit shy on the nose, this bottling of a rarely seen Italian grape offers earthy and rocky aromas as well as very dark fruit. The palate is very mineral-driven, with crushed black-rock flavors, dried berry fruit and tightly wound tannins that leave the mouth coated." -MK 10/1/2018
