Winery's Notes
"The High Country red is a quaffable, light-bodied red that's fashioned after the small AOC in Burgundy called PASSETOUTGRAINS. It loosely translates to “throw all things in,” and combines Pinot from the Sonoma Coast and Gamay from high elevation sites in El Dorado. The wine sees minimal intervention throughout the fermentation and aging process, where it has been raised on its gross lees in used French oak barrels for 9 months prior to bottling.
The High Country Red offers aromas and flavors of cherry, cranberry, and pomegranate, coupled with notes of dried herbs, orange peel, and violets. The palate has supple, crunchy tannins and ample natural acidity that supports the fruit and begs for another sip. This wine pairs well with pizza, pasta and weeknights."
