The 2016 Epiphany Rodney's Vineyard Petite Sirah is a powerhouse, sourced completely from Rodney's Vineyard on the Fess Parker Home Ranch in the Santa Ynez Valley. The opaque, purple hue gives great cues of blueberry, blackberry, and tar on the nose, plus baking spices, including vanilla, and even a hint of smoked meat. The palate reinforces the perception of blueberry and plum, along with dark chocolate, nutmeg, vanilla, and grilled herbs.
Varietal Composition: 100% Petite Sirah

90 Points - Vinous
"Epiphany's 2016 Petite Sirah is powerful, inky and unctuous, with an added kick of sweetness from the 15% American oak. Black cherry jam, lavender, cloves and sweet spices all flesh out in this full-throttle Petite from Epiphany. Winemaker Blair Fox has done a terrific job in polishing the usually forbidding young Petite tannins. There is not a whole lot of subtlety here, but the Petite is another wine in this range that really delivers the goods. Naturally, the style will be most appreciated by readers who enjoy rich, flamboyant wines." -AG, Sep/2019
