Product Overview

95 Points - Wine Enthusiast
"Ripe but pure black-plum and fig flavors are shaded with spicy hits of anise, pepper and smoke in this opulent red. Its fleshy, mouthfilling demeanor is hedonistic and immediately approachable but fresh mineral tones and firm, gripping tannins lend structure. It's at peak now through 2030." -ALCI, 12/31/2019

93 Points - Wine Advocate
"More approachable young than the 2015 version, the 2016 Chateauneuf du Pape Cuvee Elisabeth Chambellan Vieilles Vignes is a blend of 88% Grenache, 10% Syrah and 2% Mourvèdre, all grown in the la Crau lieu-dit. Aged in a combination of foudre (20%) and concrete (80%), it shows plenty of ripe Grenache character, including hints of peanut skin and stone fruit. It's full-bodied and creamy textured, with a hint of leather on the finish. Already drinking well, it should continue to do so for another decade." -JC, 8/31/2018
