The 2016 Department 66 D66 Grenache from Dave Phinney is a Grenache-dominated blend that also includes Syrah and Carignan. Dark and dense with a concentrated fragrance profile of silky ripe plum, cassis, candied violet, and wet schist, the 2016 proudly boasts a rich cardinal complexion in the glass. A round, rich texture and integrated tannins are balanced with ripe blue and black skinned fruits, cardamom, molasses, and distrinctive earth and herbal notes of garrigue, stone, and schist.
