The 2015 Château La Nerthe 2015 Châteauneuf du Pape is a deep garnet color with red highlights and has a nose that is very expressive of small red fruits (strawberries) and sweet spices (cedar, sandalwood). The palate is round, the attack is bold with smooth tannins, and the finish is long and balanced.

Appellation: Châteauneuf du Pape AOP
Aging: 12 months in large wooden casks prior to final blending, then 6 additional months prior to bottling

92 Points - Wine Spectator
"Ripe and bright, with a mix of plum, raspberry and blueberry fruit flavors that are well-defined, picking up anise as well as singed sandalwood and juniper notes along the way. The fruit stays persistent through the finish, with a perfumed hint filling in. Best from 2020 through 2035. 9,860 cases made, 1,250 cases imported." -JM, 6/15/18

92 Points - Wine Advocate
"There's almost 20% new oak in this 2015 Chateauneuf du Pape, which gives it an overlay of exotic toasted coconut and vanilla aromas and flavors. Beyond that, there's ample weight, hints of cinnamon and clove and cherry fruit that lingers on the silky finish." -JC, 10/31/17

(91-93) Points - Vinous
"(raised in foudres , concrete vats and new and used barriques) Vivid ruby-red. High-pitched, mineral-accented red berry and floral aromas are complicated by suggestions of allspice and licorice. Juicy and focused on the palate, displaying impressive energy and lift to the raspberry and bitter cherry flavors. Rich yet lithe, carrying no excess weight. Smooth tannins build slowly through a very long, spice- and floral-tinged finish." -JR, Mar/2017
