The 2015 Château de la Gardine Cuvée des Générations Gaston-Philippe expresses some roasted notes on the nose. On the palate, cassis and blackberry jam dominate. The finish is very long with some very well integrated tannins.
Varietal Composition: 40% Grenache, 30% Syrah and 30% Mourvèdre
Appellation: Chateauneuf du Pape AOC
Aging: 14-18 months in French oak barrels, 100% new

"A terrific effort from the team at La Gardine, the 2015 Chateauneuf du Pape Cuvee des Generations Gaston Philippe boasts incredible aromas of allspice and mulberries. It's a blend of 40% Grenache, 30% Syrah and 30% Mourvèdre matured in new barriques, but the oak is barely noticeable. This full-bodied wine is creamy on the mid-palate and then firmly tannic on the long finish, so give it some time in the cellar before popping a cork." -JC, 10/31/17
