Castello di Meleto Vin Santo is a white dessert blend consisting of Trebbiano, Malvasia and Sangiovese grape varietals that spends an additional year or two in oak barrels, compared to DOC standards of three years, to give it a more complex, unique character. The bouquet of dried fruits, apricot, honey, and notes of vanilla and spice lead into flavors that are lush and velvety, with great structure and a round, smooth finish at the end with acidity to balance it all out. Vin Santo pairs perfect with desserts or an after dinner digestif.
Varietal Composition: Trebbiano Toscano, Malvasia Nera, Sangiovese

"Castello di Meleto's 2009 Vin Santo is a very pretty, Trebbiano-based wine laced with hints of orange peel, dried flowers, spice and chamomile notes. Radiant and enveloping, the 2009 offers terrific depth and fine overall balance. Drink it over the next handful of years." -AG, Jan/2018
